playful design studio’s minimalist fixie bicycle forgoes a traditional frame, wrapping a rope-like structure around it tying the wheels together elegantly. by combining the sense of a fixed gear with the flexibility of a BMX, the swedish studio’s minimalist bicycle is made to offer a fun, yet efficient ride. the delicate, blue frame which interlaces like a rope, gives the bike strength and a sculpural form reminiscent of stuio arthur casas’ ‘brazil pavilion‘ from expo milan 2015.

playful design studio’s minimalist approach to the concept bicycle also bears a resemblance to bungee cords found when rock climbing. below, the elevated bottom bracket would normally say this concept bike is suited to mountain trails, however, the delicate nature of it suggests it is more comfortable on commutes. completing the bike is an intricately wrapped basket for carrying supplies.

the swedish design stuio believes that being playful is the ultimate way of exploring situations, products and experiences. it takes the position of not being afraid of doing wrong giving it courage to find solutions in a less conventional way, with open minds.
