the 'ki-oke stool' designed by danish design studio OeO and crafted by shuji nakagawa for japan handmade fuses the fine tradition of kyoto
woodcrafting with western sensibilities - the result an object fabricated from either japanese cypress (sawara) and in a limited edition lignified
japanese cedar (jindai-sugi) with a natural, 2,0000 year old patina. the 'ki-oke' stool was presented at maison et objet 2013 in paris.

the staves are joined with bamboo pins, the top and bottom edges are smoothed, a base is affixed and the entire assembly is bound with metal rings
