nendo is the stockholm furniture & light fair's tenth guest of honor, a title which recognizes and celebrates an international designer,
by inviting them to create an installation within the main entrance of the venue.

in wanting to create a landscape of snow-capped mountains, the japanese studio laser-cut and stretched 80 sheets of 5mm plastic foam board to create partitions,
evenly spaced from one another, to form a range of peaks varying in size over the expansive space. the hilly volumes have been arranged in such a way,
that they create internal open pockets within where by furniture is placed, encouraging visitors to engage with the work and take a break from
the hustle and bustle of the fair.

in developing the large-scale work, nendo wanted to reduce the exhibition's environmental impact, but still produce an installation with maximum effect.
to do so, the thin panels of material were stretched directly on site, in order that everything was packed compactly and that only one truck was needed
to deliver all the necessary components. after the show ends, the pieces can be easily flattened and recycled.
