prolific designer nendo has completed a multifunctional concept store in tokyo for fashion brand beige. the scheme not only serves as a shop for selling clothing and interior goods, but also functions as a library and as a gallery – hosting regular events and art exhibitions. to avoid cluttering the volume, a lattice of 7.5mm beams has been installed 2 meters above the floor, creating attic-like storage for books that are held in place magnetically. hangers for clothes and bags are hung from the grid, and can be freely moved to different locations within the store, while a variety of flexible box-shaped fixtures dot the floor providing additional display space.
