ninna kapadia turns obsolete fuse boxes into re-fuse candlesticks

the fuse box houses carefully engineered porcelain sockets and copper parts along with a vast amount of beautiful screws. nowadays, ceramic fuses are discarded and replaced with automatic versions. instead of no longer seeing the need for these devices, stockholm-based designer ninna kapadia has devised away to create sculptural candlesticks from the intriguing insides of these obsolete constructs.

candelabrums

the process begins by saving them from piles scrap. once they have been sorted, kapadia cleans, unscrews, and and then combines them into new constructs so they can perform their original purpose of providing warmth and light in an alternative way. each result is unique and built depending on what the specific parts can do with their many pre-drilled holes. the openings, often with internal threads, dictate the reassembly, but size of the holder is sufficient for a regular sized candle.
