netherlands-based multidisciplinary team NOMAN (fashion designer selina parr and set designer lara tolman) have sent us images of their newest collections: ‘yeahman’, ‘nosho’, and ‘nocom’. the pieces are abstracted from their archetypal model and re-imagined into new forms that focus on color and structure. the translated expressions disconnect from the general meaning of the product to capture a presence of abstraction.

‘yeahman’ is an assemblage of mixed media, textiles and paint. the four objects are stacked at different heights with an array of objects, tinted in varying pastel tones. fabric pieces hug the items evoking a sense of memory reminiscent to dressing dolls. the forms extract a contemporary aesthetic with ingredients of the world around us that feed into an intuitive level.

‘nosho’ is a group of hanging drapery pieces constructed out of cloth, wooden rails, and paint. the floating shapes are positioned within the space to form a hovering path. the overlapping fabrics produce a color blocked structure of dipping levels.
