nudie boards was conceived almost twenty years ago after a eye-opening day of boarding on what had began as a surfing trip. founded by two faithful skaters, known simply as nic and alby, each deck is handmade in their home shops in surrey and cornwall, england. their works are simple and modern, with a pinpoint focus on whats truly important: riding.

the newest board to come out of the shop is a 37” long, 9” wide pintail made of solid walnut. stunningly grained and always wonderful to look at, nudie boards has been itching to make something that showcases the wood’s qualities. it was decided that the board would be an homage, and pays respects to the first handmade, hardwood surfboards that came out of ancient hawaii.

a top graphic was designed and laser-etched directly into the deck. wild waves spray and slam across the entire surface, a perfect compliment to the heavy 70’s aesthetic. but just because it looks retro, doesn’t mean it has to ride that way. as usual, nudie slapped on some wonderful components, including 180mm V2s from paris truck co.seismic’s 69mm hotspot defcon wheels in mango, and the always reliable super reds bearings from bones
