observatory: digital city installation by citrico grafico + cocolab

 

 the observatory: digital city installation by citrico grafico + cocolab took place as part of the inaugural abierto mexicano de diseno.

 

set against the spectacular background of the city as seen from floor 35 of the latin american tower, observatory: digital city allowed the public to observe, get up close to and know more about the city through motion graphic projections, static graphics and documentary film that were projected onto the windows of the tower. these visuals were complimented with an interactive audio installation about the day-to-day life of tradesmen at work in the centro histórico.

the motion graphics are projected onto screens that similar in size to the windows in the observatory of  the latin american tower. the video content at times merging with the view and at other times contrasting against it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

in addition the view from the windows were adorned with vinyl infographics that displayed facts and figures about mexico city, in some cases related to what was viewable from the 35th floor of the tower – which overlooked downtown mexico city.
