the ‘oon’ by okum is a new type of multi-outlet power cord for living. with a philosophy of creating ‘everyday objects of engrained detail,’ the los angeles-based design studio has developed an appliance that combines logical function and thoughtful design. it beautifully organizes plugs and blocky adapters that are ubiquitous in our lives. three electrical sockets have been created to flex and rotate to conform to different situations, allowing for all connections to be utilized and organized. the clean and simple aesthetic consists of details deliberately crafted in metal, plastic, fiber, and hard maple wood. ensuring that consumers have a safe and hazard-free device, the oon uses self-contained sockets from the USA that have been certified by underwriters laboratories, an independent, non-profit, global organization that helps “safeguard people, products and places.”
