spanish designer patricia urquiola‘s ‘comback chair’ for kartell, revisits the classic windsor chair and brings it into a contemporary context. drawing on the furniture of  18th century england, urquiola’s version of a comb back chair  features a backrest consisting of seven ‘teeth’ which spread out towards the lumbar region of one’s back, where they meet at a reinforced hexagonal rim with slim shafts radiating downwards to join the seat. the single mould chair is made from batch-dyed thermoplastic technopolymer.
