the ability to adapt is a key characteristic engrained within our DNA. it is this innate instinct that has helped man survive the harsh conditions of the world since the beginning of our existence. the nomadic hunter-gatherers, who would search the lands for food carrying hand crafted weapons, eventually transformed into farmers who cultivated crops with systems and machines. in today’s context, this need to modify ourselves can be facilitated by designers. take pawel grobelny for example, a polish creative who has developed a table called ‘in-quarto’ for biennale interieur 2014 in kortrijk, belgium.

the furniture piece is available in two finishing versions: one with table top of the natural american walnut and another in various types of marble. the honest aesthetic is based on seamless tube of white aluminum and a removable table top. the power to swap the accented surface according to the mood or atmosphere gives users the possibility to change the nature of work in a simple and fast way.
