PIXIO lets you create almost any object in a pixellated fashion

developed with the pixel art style, PIXIO is a colorful and magnetic construction set that offers virtually any shape and design. each piece is a plastic cube 8x8x8 mm in size, weighing just over one gram, inside of which are six powerful magnets. these identical PIXIOs come in sixteen different colors that allow users to create completely distinctive objects, characters and structures.

PIXIO is a colorful magnetic set that allows you to re-create almost any object

for each PIXIO set, instructions will be included to show the simplicity of the building process. in fact, a child over six years old can easily use the product to learn letters, numbers and colors. ‘an important feature of PIXIO is that it allows you to create something cool very quickly. for example, a child can make a dinosaur in just 10 seconds’, explains art director alex white. accordingly, PIXIO will help children develop fine motor skills, attentiveness, among other qualities. right now, the team is working on instructions for many hundreds of beloved characters including minions, the pink panther and super mario.

users can build new characters entirely from scratch

the polarity of the magnets are arranged in such a way that the cubes can be connected to each other in any sequence, from different sides. In PIXIO, neodymium (Nd-Fe-B) magnets are used; they lose no more than 2% of their magnetic force in 50 years. the set is available in sixteen different colors: red, orange, yellow, light green, green, turquoise, light blue, blue, violet, pink, tan, light brown, brown, gray, black, and white.
