ramón úbeda + otto canalda float fish inside their ‘up in the air’ table for viccarbe. presented at the 2014 salone del mobile, the spanish creatives have envisioned the white lacquered cylindrical forms as playful objects ideal for home and contract use, which bring a bit of minimalistic fun to one’s interior. each of the fish are handmade by juanjo – once an angler, but now a sculptor of the underwater animals – who has produced detailed replicas specifically of goldfish that are sealed within an environment-friendly resin and protected by anti-reflective optical glass to complete each design.

available in four different versions of fish compositions, the ‘up in the air’ tables visually recall the work of artist riusuke fukahori who alternatively paints the swimming creatures onto layers of resin, creating hyper-realistic sculptures.
