reborn: porcelain and stainless steel vases by lin wei-teng

rather than concealing ceramic features commonly found in textures and colors of oriental-based porcelain techniques, designer lin wei-teng has re-imagined the appearance of traditional stone wear in a project entitled ‘reborn’. as introverted porcelain from the east is typically coated in exaggerated and complex western motifs, the collection of vases bridges the relationship between clay and metal with minimal wire structures that house organic ceramic volumes. the un-glazed porcelain creates contrast between the polished stainless steel, which highlights wei-teng’s gentle and reserved silhouettes.
