for the occasion of IMM cologne 2014, stuttgart-based designer richard lampert has presented his newest collection with a unique island installation. conceived by alexander seifried, the ‘kargah tent’ intervention acts as a container for the latest re-interpretations of long forgotten design classics such as the eiermann table and unconventional mix-and-match pieces like the 4-layer ‘tom’ pouffe.

last year, richard lampert introduced the ‘tom’ product family, comprising the big tom barstool, the little tom and fat tom stools and the tom side table. for IMM cologne, a new four-layer pouffe available in two sizes has been conceived. like a pile of jaffa cakes or doughnuts, the tubular steel frame construction stacks two or three cushions piled one on top of the other.

almost 25 years ago, designer otto sudrow transferred the construction principle of one of the eiermann table designs to create a high desk: ‘milla’, a simple and reasonably priced piece of furniture that could be easily disassembled, changing the traditional office environment by promoting active standing and work approach. refined by alexander seifried, the milla design to create a bar table that references the original form with a new palette of playful colors.

the milla bar table serves as both a dining table – for example in small domestic kitchens and in bars and cafés – and as a work table in offices. an integrated shelving unit and colorful sliding door elements are main features of the design, offering additional storage space for kitchen utensils, magazines and books.

developed for indoor and outdoor use, the in-out armchair has been designed to escape from the everyday with a small retreat; sit back with a good book and relax on the comfortable foam-bolstered seat cover. at IMM cologne 2014, the in-out is presented in new colorways and with new covers.

in 1995, the eiermann family granted richard lampert the exclusive rights to manufacture the original eiermann 1 table frame. designed in 1953 by the german architect egon eiermann, the tubular steel construction of the original design adapted to modern life and work. the modular design can be disassembled into parts and easily set-up and taken apart. for imm cologne 2014, the table frame will be available for use as large scale tabletops measuring 150 x 150 cm or 150 x 300 cm, allowing for large work surfaces and tables used for design drawings, presentations and meetings.
