the coral structures around the gili islands off the coast of lombok, indonesia were the main influences for ‘gili vaas’ by dutch designer roderick vos. developed for the netherlands-based manufacturer koninklijke tichelaar makkum,  five separate components are fused together to create the stoneware container. the uneven base of the vessel allows it to tilt in several different directions while still retaining its balance.
