‘great egret’ is an experiment in emotion, a sculpted form that sits atop a pair of deeply curved rockers. its creators, sayar & garibeh, working from their recently opened beirut studio pursued the project as part of an ongoing speculative investigation into the status of chairs, and where the future could lead.

influenced by a grand feathered creature of the same name, ‘great egret’ cradles users in a frozen thrust of wings, evoking feelings of sitting atop the bird’s sweeping back. the chair is fully upholstered in black, with brass connectors and rockers connected via a metal base (also black). ‘great egret’ was designed by beirut-based studio sayar & garibeh
