'purity design' by scott wilson of the USA, is one of the short-listed winners of the recent
designboom competition 'rocking chairs'.

designer's own words:
the scale of the rocker is oversized and the height is low for a more informal and lounging effect.
an array of 3D stretch fabrics are spanned within a thin frame and then anchored into the rim
of the spherical shell. durable polyurethane stretch meshes with direct inject standoff features
create even better airflow and a very differentiated aesthetic. this visual calming and harmony
complement the functional calming effect which is the essence of all rockers.
