drawing reference from berlin’s industrial manufacturing history, ‘numerouno’, the locally produced pendant lamp by german designer johannes kiessler features a sturdy corrugated cardboard construction, emitting more light than two 75W light bulbs. due to its lightweight construction and 21W tube, the illumination source lowers energy consumption, while waste from production and transportation is also significantly reduced. weighing just 600 grams, the lamp is meant to be easily disassembled and can be completely flat-packed for shipping and storage. the ‘semi-readymade’ pendant features four simple components: cardboard, wire, plastic and nylon thread, and can be put together in a matter of minutes.
