ultra-soft and thin, SKYN®’s SKYNFEEL™ material is barely noticeable, revolutionizing the condom industry because of the truly, intimate, sexual experience it offers. but while it is known for enhancing performance in the bedroom, the condom brand was curious about how SKYNFEEL™ could be applied and benefit other areas.

with the rio 2016 olympics coming up, SKYN was intrigued to explore athletics and the constant innovation that is going into sports clothes to heighten the competitive edge between athletes. they called on designer pauline van dongen to work with them to realize a truly one-of-a-kind conceptual long jump suit that takes advantage of the material. the result is SKYNFEEL™ apparel.

unlike typical condoms made from rubber latex, SKYN® are made from polyisoprene—a revolutionary material that gives close to a natural feeling with increased sensitivity. because polyisoprene is ultra-soft, the garment minimizes body limitations, thus giving extra airtime to a long jump athlete. applying it to create sports wear sees the SKYNFEEL™ apparel boasting a cutting edge design that draws influences from biomimicry. the suit features wing-like flaps along the edge of the body which remain flat during the run, but open up during the jump while the athlete twists his arms and straightens his legs. this aerodynamic design creates airpockets and an upward lift, giving a fraction more airtime—from enhanced pleasure in the bedroom to elite athletic performance on the track.
