as part of the cultural program of the seoul design olympiad 2008 (october 10-30, 2008),

designboom hosted a group exhibition for the first time in seoul of international design professionals,
some that you are already acquainted with and others that deserve to be noticed. the participating
designers sold design-originals (limited series and/or prototypes of their latest works).the designboom
mart took place at the city's jamsil sports complex from 10 -14 october, 2008. seoul olympiad visitors
had the opportunity to purchase intelligent, useful and quirky items priced from 10,000 KRW - 100,000 KRW.

from metal to ceramics, glass to fabrics, to recycled materials, with close to 100 beautiful objects on sale

the mart achieved a good compromise between creativity and production. in this initiative, the designers
were personally presenting their wares, along with, various samples and a portfolio. the - designboom
mart seoul 08 - was an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar
with their work.
