‘furnature’ is an experimental project by milano based sovrappensiero design studio. the works are described as ‘incomplete’ objects, aesthetically anonymous and stateless, representing the disconnect between users, industrial products, and their creation. ‘furnature’ pieces are ‘completed’ and activated through the addition of natural elements found by the owner according to his/her own tastes, needs, and link to their specific location.

by combining the two halves, a duality is created. a minimal, functional component born of industry and reproducible anywhere is geographically ambiguous. but with the addition of a natural element, the same piece is bound to a specific place, uniting notions of global and local. ‘furnature’ is slated for exhibition at LA DODO gallery during milan design week 2016
