‘subway’ by thomas bernstrand for materia

‘subway’ designed by thomas bernstrand for swedish company materia was displayed
for the first time at the stockholm furniture fair. the magazine holder is based on the
classic advertisement pillars with layers and layers of posters. the standalone cylindrical
model lends itself to placement in the middle of the room where the magazines are
accessible from all directions. one floor standing ‘subway’ alone will hold 72 magazines.
textile-covered rubber bands keep the magazines in place. the subway is available in
three different heights as a floor standing model, and for wall mounting.
