the 2015 / 2016 programme announces ‘hybrid urbanism’ as its theme. the curriculum will combine intensive on-campus training with field trips, an internship and prototype work, all center on each student’s personal and career development through the utilization of best practices of project management and leadership training. one of the key highlights this year will be a research collaboration with the harvard graduate school of design, which will see students of the strelka institute and GSD work on a moscow case, and present their findings and outcomes at harvard in boston.

this year we are trying to look at the intersection between the physical world and digital world. that’s why we will focus on digital services which changed our habits and urban lives. an interesting example of applied hybrid urbanism is uber. they have radically changed way we access and experience the city using tactful thinking, mobile technology due daytime and integrate that user and partner experience‘, commented david erixon, programming director of strelka’s education programme and co-founder of hyper island.
