london-based studio glithero (sarah van gameren and tim simpson) was commissioned by the corinthia hotel, london to develop a temporary bar that would host several parties including the bafta awards and events during london fashion week. the duo came up with ‘poured bar’, consisting of layers of fast-hardening fluid, poured over a 6 metre long immaculate surface. when the liquid becomes rigid, the poured slap is flipped, revealing the smooth plane of the first poured layers, while also exposing the blobs, drips, puddles and runs from production, outlining the path of the gestures in which it was made. the completed bar top is mounted to a wooden structure.
