'shaped-by-time', developed by dutch studio toer is a clock that reveals itself through the passage of time.
because the device looks for the most efficient way to maneuver through volumes of material,
it ultimately creates an organic composition from slow repetitive mechanical movements.
the hour hand becomes slightly visible when the clock starts running, where after a few days, it excavates
itself out of the matter and a chronological measurement appears. when shaken, the hours and minutes disappear,
only to start the process again.

I purchased this clock and must say I am quite disappointed. The sand is actually flour and the hands don’t move it the way as shown here.
