developed for danish company nordic tales, ‘the collar lamp’ by spanish designer and architect jordi lopez aguilo features an organically-shaped lampshade that rotates on its base. made from powder painted steel, the curved piece is mounted onto a solid bit of oak wood. turning 180 degrees, the light source can be orientated in different directions and placed at the desired angle. measuring 33 x 7 x 7 cm, it consists of three simple parts: the base, LED-bulb and lampshade. produced as both an up-light and as a wall lamp, diffusely illuminated surfaces highlight the expressive contrast between the cold steel and warmth of the wood.
