‘tokyo’ is a collection of seats from milanese design studio, makio hasuike & co. the chairs combine two opposite methods of woodworking, one ancient and one contemporary, in a melding of curved ply and solid wood. the ply is curved spherically, made possible only by fairly recent techniques and technologies, while the solid woods are processed via traditional turning. moulded polyurethane cushions–fit precisely to the back and seat–complete the design
