with the launch of the ‘boost running shoes’, URBANTAINER and adidas constructed the ‘boost energy lab’ experience space in the sports company’s myeondong, south korea flagship store. following the much acclaimed ‘springblade innovation lab’, the architecture office brought together graphic design, light installations, and enhanced experience touch points in an overall concept direction to create a unified brand atmosphere.

the installation consists of two parts: the display zone and the experience zone. the first area highlights the functionality of the product by focusing on its cushioning. the flexibility of this material gives athletes the ability to move freely, which is represented by a collection of acrylic cylinders. in turn, the play between cohesion and explosive power of the energy capsules manifests itself in a moving light installation. meanwhile, the LED panels in the floor of the second area allows visitors to fully experience the shoe. as they interact with the ground by performing physical activities, mappings of their results are projected onto sculptural backgrounds.
