it was at the milan furniture show in 2008 that 5.5 design studio unveiled its first project with veuve clicquot: a tasting venue called the ‘champagne cellar.’ the success of this first project marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration. the studio supports the brand by developing its programs and resolving design issues, from the visual representation of packaging to intricate dining-service accessories and drafting marketing materials. since then, the duo have revealed their newest series of creations for ‘the mail collection.’

with a nod to the classic envelope purse, the ‘clicquot clutch’ is formed. the yellow carrier is accented by brown piping along smoothly filleted edges, leading to a brown wristlet allowing users to easily transport the accessory when they are on the go. typically flat, the raised contours of a veuve clicquot yellow label brut bottle invite people to open the clutch, revealing an isothermic nest capable of keeping the interior cold for up to one hour.

the ‘clicquot express’ is characterized as a ready-to-send box that is able to withstand the rigors of international post. similar to the clutch, the secure cardboard box is custom-fitted to safely nestle one 75cl bottle of the company’s yellow label brut. equipped with global standard labels for contents of its kind, as well as vintage stamps and the official clicquot logo, all that is required of the consumer is proper postage materials and a destination address.

providing the need for an institutional box, the ‘clicquot enveloppe’ is a foldable carton in the company’s signature yellow hue. the exterior is decorated by the graphics of an envelope and bears all the hallmarks in accordance with the brand’s standards down to the details of the stamp, which recalls the anchor of veuve clicquot ponsardin.
