the original letter of de cotiis illustrates the concept of the set and how the city deeply affected him: ‘I see the lines of the architecture blurred in the traces of a lost urbanism. life is happening at night, the ‘reconstruction’ is more evident in the dark. the awakening is overwhelming, between uneasiness and amazement, an organic flow of a culture that wants to revive. the construction or rather continued reconstruction of the city isn’t expressed by any clear set of rules. it’s an architectural landscape that’s layered in different aesthetics and time periods that are vague and worn by time.’

all of this fascinated the italian architect. the conflicting forms translated into objects alongside a decomposition of elements has made its way into the series. each piece plays off of light with reflective, transparent, and opaque surfaces composed from unique materials. thus, they are all ‘interpretations of reassembled and deconstructed architectures. references methodically confused and clear opposites yet coming together like the contrasts of a city that is rooted in a devotion to construct a vision of contemporary culture.’
