‘wald’ is a floor lamp stripped to its most essential parts, then thoughtfully reassembled as a versatile object fitting of any environment. the lamp is incredibly light and is anchored by the wall socket without any additional support or base structure, creating a seamless graphical presence with a classic ‘form follows function’ philosophy.

minimally designed as an utilitarian object for everyday use

designed by LA studio, feltmark, the piece relies on traditional craftsmanship, time-honed practice, and simple, honest materials and processes. ‘wald’s’ hardwood body is machine-milled in seven unique operations before being finished by hand. precision-bent aluminum is bead blasted to a fine texture, then anodized–a process that creates a protective oxide layer on the metal’s surface. the resulting part features a deep finish with added durability and wear resistance. the lamp is available in two heights: a larger option that stands at four feet installed, and a slightly smaller three foot version.
