as architects expand their design horizons they apply their particular aesthetics to new avenues, creating rather refreshing and often times new approaches to everyday items accessible to a much larger audience. following ‘icon hill’ and the ‘liquid glacial table‘, zaha hadid revisits the world of fashion, as many well known architects have done, introducing the latest in summer fashion spearheaded by designer vera viviona wang. the 2014 viviona swimwear takes visual cues from the parametric world, the showcasing the body within a skin-tight matrix of fluid solid and void, highlighting and concealing various parts through gradients of transparencies. as partner patrik schumacher states, ‘we architects know the how, not the what … we must have the ‘know how’.
