massimiliano fuksas: video installation "less aesthetics, more ethics"

in collaboration with studio azzurro and raisat.
this installation is made of a huge screen 5 meters high and 2.8 meters wide, illuminated by
39 synchronized slide projectors, which runs along the corderia (ca. 300 meters) :
giant digital and video images of 11 metropolises with audio fragments, discourses of globalization.
in the introduction to the catalogue of the biennale massimiliano fuksas writes:
"the first consideration that surfaced after shooting eleven video films in eleven different cities,
was their absolute ambivalence and ambiguity. these tapes can project images of cities as classic,
touristic, picturesque ethnic or cultured stereotypes or they can portray the contradictions and cruelty
that the city knowingly watches over."
