  during the 100% design show christopher farr presented 'cloth', the company's first ever collection of furnishing fabrics. a party was held to celebrate new work by precious mcbane, michael sodeau and michael young, featuring verner panton's 'square rug' .in addition to this there there was the opening of an exhibition at the riba architecture gallery of rugs and flatweaves designed by gunta stoelzl (1897-1983). |

the victoria and albert museum showed its raising awareness of the v & a's role in promoting contemporary design and presenting information on recent, current and future activities. the products of the 100% design/blueprint contest were displayed in the foyer and the v&a invited the public to vote for their favourites to test their judgement against that of the experts. a party to celebrate the 100% design was held in between the showcases of the museum collection. --- see also
