   aidan walker - managing editor of 'blueprint', mario bellini and the blueprint judging panel. the 100% design / blueprint awards judging panel, which includes distinguished guest of honour milanese architect and product designer mario bellini, discussed the nature of 'excellence in design or what makes good design'. how do architecture and product design interact? can you only design a chair if you can design a building? are buildings now designed so much like products that architecture itself is to be redundant? with the seminar 'excellence in design or what makes good design' blueprint provided a platform for some of the key debates of this design age. winners: designer's award - lammhults 'cosmos' chair by gunilla allard manufacturer's award- magis 'air' chair by jasper morrison judges' award for creativity went to james gott for his softwood ply and polyurethane lounger. |
