designboom and 100% design international design competition 100% FOLDING CHAIRS - PROTOTYPES WANTED results ! title: s-type # : 903 name : julia läufer + marcus keichel gender : female + male age : - city : berlin state : germany --- A folding chair as a sculptural object The design of our folding chair is an hommage to the Werkbund architect and painter Richard Riemerschmid, to his artistic commitment and his creative personnality. Inspired by his music-room chair from 1899, our aim is to design a folding chair with a strong emotional impact . We have therefore privileged the sculptural and expressive character of the object, and this is especially striking in the flowing silhouette. The innovative and patented folding mechanism as a functional element stays in the background.
