designboom and 100% design international design competition 100% FOLDING CHAIRS - PROTOTYPES WANTED results ! title: chair^2 (chair squared) # : 931 name : nicholas oxley, tristan shaw gender : male age : - city : new york state : usa --- Chair° was designed as a response to a new nomadic society requiring flexible products and furniture allowing for simple storage and convenient transportation. Inspiration for this project was derived in part from the Hussein Chalayan fall 2000 womenswear collection as well as several modular housing concepts by Lotek architecture. Chair^2 elegantly folds up to become the drawer of a table so that it can be inserted for storage, and removed for seating. The table may be stored in a similar modular arrangement.
