fully functional prototype.
the piece observes 'humanscale'; is light, can be
picked up with one hand; it can be completely folded
up; and the 'hinge' is one that is flexible rather
than rigidly fixed around single points. composed of
three sectional shapes of wood repeated, the chair
takes on concave and complex curvatures because of the
tensile flexibility of the springs and fine steel
cable which connect it. at certain angles of view, the
chair becomes partially transparent due to to spacing
of the sections. the chair can be collapsed, can be
occupied in various orientations, deforms under the
body weight of the occupant when sitting; and the
tension of the cable is adjustable.
