macef design award 2004 : results title: GLACIER # : 2246 marianne støren berg from norway ---  designer's comment: In a container filled with 2 liters of water, we add a hollow one-liter block of ice, - to cool the water and to function as the serving mechanism. Apply a gentle downward pressure to the ice, forcing water to rise past it and over the top of the container, cooling it to near freezing in the process. The water cascades down the shear glass sides of the container. This creates a beautiful play of light in water, glass and ice. Like a mountain stream the water is gathered in a natural crevice and directed like a waterfall into your glass. The ice block is created in your own freezer in a polymer container.
