(b. bremerton, washington, 1947)


established steven holl architects in new york in 1976.

honor graduate at the university of washington architecture
school in bellevue.
he studied architecture in rome, italy in 1970,
and did post-graduate work at the architectural association
in london in 1976. the kiasma museum of contemporary art
(1998) in helsinki, finland, is considered his signature work.

in 1989, the MOMA presented holl's work in a special
two-man show, purchasing several drawings for their
permanent collection.

in 1991, his work was featured in a solo exhibition at the
walker art center in minneapolis, in the series entitled
'architecture tomorrow'. this exhibition was moved to the
henry art gallery in seattle, washington and in 1992-3
exhibited throughout europe.
