'phenomena and idea, experience of phenomena
-- sensations in space and time as distinguished
from the perception of objects - provides a
'pre-theoretical' ground for architecture.
such perception is pre-logical, it requires a
suspension of apriori thought.
phenomenology, questions of perception,
encourages us to experience architecture by
walking through it, touching it, listening to it.
'seeing things' requires slipping into a world
below the everyday neurosis of the functioning world.
an underground city for which we have keys
without locks, it is full of mysteries.' says holl.

this small construction is sited atop a windy desert
mesa. it's form, imagined like the tip of an iceberg
indicating a much larger form below, allows turbulent
wind to blow through the center.

the stressed skin and aluminum rib construction
will be digitally prefabricated in kansas city -
then bolted together on site. P.V. cells covering
the roof allow overflow power for the existing
adobe constructions.
