| eversharp 'symphony' introduced in 1948, the 'symphony' was one of the first pens aggressively marketed as styled by a famed designer. eversharp had turned to loewy and commissioned a new fountain pen in an attempt to regain its share of the writing instrument market. the 'symphony' pen features a metal cap, plated with either chrome or gold and trimmed with contrasting metal. the pen was also offered with either a solid gold or sterling silver cap. despite marketing that played up the pen's styling and its famed designer, it was not a big seller, and production ceased in 1953. eversharp was unable to turn itself around and was purchased by parker in 1957. --- |
