designer's own words:

The LIGHT Experience. The design focused on an aspect of solar architecture often overlooked; to discuss solar is not just about sustainability but also the quality of light and light as an experience. It can be said that this is a distinct piece of architecture which gives due recognition to the qualities of light such as transparency, translucency, holography, and overshadowing, interpreting them into a changing spatial experience inside while outside conditions is unchanged. Life itself is pretty much the same cycle, humans develop and change. Life experience varies by stages. It is a lucid contribution where discussing solar and discovering light as an experience brings us into the future of Light Architecture. It exemplifies reciprocal process towards the responsibility of architects to push technology. The resulting project is proposed as a prototype. Story of Concept Usually people say, “Life is long passage.” This means the transmigration of souls. In this project, it is presented this philosophy of concept as using the light. In the interior of this project, a baby in the womb of mother, a baby of the moment of coming out from mother, before a baby open eyes, a baby of the moment of seeing the light for the first time are presented. In other words, this means the passage of human life, the passage of light. The Experiences: 1.Introverted Space : -black printed glass: Darkness -mirror effect Extension of space: -Light is endlessly reflected and thrown back upon the visitor, thus creating an endless unreal introverted space. Experience: -Visitor has no contact with the outside world. -Visitor is alone with himself, seeing only his own endless reflections. 2.Spectral Space -beginning of transparency and brightness. -Holograms for spectral splitting of light ( there is a focus on lines, points or areas) -Effect of rainbows and mirror. Extension of space: -The rainbow which is usually far and lies on the horizon is brought near. Experience: -Visitor has no complete contact with the outer world, but he is welcomed on the inside with a colorful play of light. -The visitor’s reflection is mixed with the reflections from outside. -Visitor sees the spectral nature of light. 3.Virtual Space -almost full transparency and brightness -holograms for creating virtual bodies. -Holograms for distorting and refracting the outside Extension of Space: -Virtual pictures belong to the gallery but seem to be far outside. Experience: Confuses the visitor by not letting him know what is real? The virtual inside or the distorted outside. -Visitor is still not sure whether he is outside or not. -Reality is unreal. 4. Extroverted Space -full transparency and brightness Extension of Space: -space is limited by the glass or by the horizon Experience: -visitor is inside although he seems to be outside. -Visitor absorbs the energy of the sun and feels it -Visitor is protected from the outside (weather, temperature.)
