designer's own words:Why we did what we did The brief for this project was to create a poster for Tivoli Audio, celebrating their 10th anniversary. ‘TIVOLI AUDIO is a world leader in the design and manufacture of table radios. The company was founded in 2000 with the goal of bringing beautifully designed, simple-to-use, high quality audio products to the consumer. for the past 10 years, TIVOLI AUDIO has become world renowned by introducing some of the finest and highly acclaimed audio products ever made.’ This statement as provided by Tivoli, in conjunction with research into Tivoli lead to defining this piece by the following words • beautifully designed, simple-to-use • high quality audio products • classic • iconic This was the inspiration and idea behind the development of this project. The objective was to visually show the words above, and so the idea of showing three elements of beautifully designed, classic and iconic was the inspiration. The little back dress, and classic tux, these were the imagery that portrayed these words, and were the perfect accompaniment to the Tivoli style of design and their image. No text was used, other than the Tivoli name, the idea behind such a clean design was to let the imagery speak to the audience, let the visual message be the one that all potential customers will associate with the Tivoli name. Colours were also kept to a minimum, clean and classic, like the elements that were represented.
