designer's own words:

I live near a beautiful beach in England where people often have BBQs. They use disposable BBQs (aluminium trays housing charcoal with a steel mesh top for cooking on). People often leave the disposable BBQs on the beach when they’ve finished with them. The BBQs break up leaving sharp pieces of metal that create a significant hazard for everyone who uses the beach – children often cut themselves quite badly. They also create an environmental problem as they harm wildlife and the synthetic coal poisons the surrounding area. My solution is a completely disposable BBQ, with built in windbreak, cooking tools, firelighters, charcoal and chemical free ceramic cooking plate. All components are combustible, apart from the cooking plate that gradually cracks up once placed on fire. It is made from chemical free ceramic so will decompose naturally.
