designer's own words:

The gap between furniture and teenagers can be closed by adapting furniture to the activities and style of teenagers. Dobble, a double sided chair, combines two important functions: One side for studying, provoking a more upright position with lumbal support for sitting straight. The other side for relaxing and chilling out, allowing a wide range of postures. The simple cubic form of Dobble changes into a colourfull chair as soon as the cushion is compressed under the weight of a person sitting on it and the electric blue inside appears. Colours and form are chosen such that they do not look childish, since teenagers refer themselves, as for style, with young people older than they are. The cushions are made of soft polyurethane (PU) foam that is easily compressed. The chair itself is made of a PU foam with a higher density and an inner frame of wood (or plastic) for stability. The chair is covered with a textile slipcover. Dobble can be used for making homework or reading, listening to music, calling friends, socializing (by pulling out one of the cushions as a side chair) and for the storage of personal items (in the small storage compartment). Smaller teenagers can use the cushions as a footrest; as a result Dobble is fit for teenagers of different sizes. Dobble is a chair they will never grow out of.
