designer's own words:

Flex is a compact city bicycle. The intention of the design is to create a bicycle that has a whole form, as appose to the familiar bicycle which has many parts that are completely separated in terms of esthetics. To achieve that I did two things, one is to create a monoblock form instead of many mechanical connections, and two, is to combine the back fork and the chain cover in to one element, which from one hand reduces the visual noise and from the other creates a new iconic look. The brakes are located in the back wheel and operate by reverse paddling. The steering wheel is more narrow than usual in order to achieve better transferability in crowded urban conditions. The body is made of carbon fiber which formed on top of the fixed mechanical elements and connects between them, while still allowing access to change parts which wear due to usage.
