designer's own words:

I worked with a artist/design team in Los Angeles, Machine Histories, to develop a project with almost impossible conditions; a fully functional ornamental 4-poster bed, out of solid midnight blue Corian to be shipped to Italy in 10 days...hopefully cut on a CNC machine. Their shop was not up and running at the time, we couldn't find 4 sheets of midnight blue Corian, let alone find anyone to sell us Corian without certification. We had to go around the system to procure the material (obviously white was all that was available) and shipped it out DHL overnight at the eleventh hour. The crate was enormous and weighed half a ton, plus the material is super fragile. It was insane. I wanted the "look" of something that might have been carved in the Black Forest but by an albino alien and I think we came pretty darn close.
