designer's own words:

Combining the crafts of metal work and doll making we created a very hairy lamp that invites the user to engage in a craft of his own- hairstyling. Each different hairstyle effects the amount of the light exposed, creating different ambiences in the room. The lampshade is hand crafted using metal spinning and then holes are drilled into it. Similar to the weaving of doll hair, we then individually inserted each of the hair strands, which in fact are the fringes commonly found on lamps. The result is a luscious head of hair that you just can't stop touching. Now comes the fun part: anybody can create any hairstyle he wants, and view the effect it has on the light. This lamp becomes a loveable pet in the home- you'll never want to stop playing with it and primping it.
